Found 2 photos we took in early 2006 just after we bought the house. Compare to the 2 recent ones during demolition, you can imagine how many trees & plants we have removed...
Allan Did you install root barriers? We have two big trees, one in the front on council land, one at the back. I am not sure if I should have root barriers installed while the pipes are laid many thanks
I guess if you house/pipes are quite close to those trees you should contact some suppliers and ask for opinion. May be during excavation you can ask them to dig the trench to make it easier/cheaper for you to install them?
I have seen friend's old house which sewage pipe was blocked by tree root, blocking toilets, and it's quite expensive to remove it.
We have 2 big trees at the back, both quite far away from the house so we didn't look at those root barrier things.

Allan your neighbours would be very happy to be rid of the "overplanted isor" from next door....
Shame you couldn't get rid of the big ones at the back too!
Sorry Matt, deleted your other comment as it's a duplicate...
Yes, the neighbour was quite happy about that. About the big ones, well, there's not much we can do about it due to council requirment...
Cheers
Allan
